La Savonnerie du Pilon du Roy is first and foremost a story of deep attachment to Provence: ts landscapes, its traditions, its aromatic plants, and that simple yet demanding way of taking care of yourself.
We believe in a fairer kind of beauty: clean formulas, rigorously selected ingredients, and skincare that invites you on a sensory journey through Provence.
A house founded in 2002, between Mimet and La Ciotat
Our story began in 2002, at the foot of the rocky peak known as Pilon du Roy, in the Provençal village of Mimet. Today, our soapery is based in La Ciotat, on the Mediterranean coast.
From the very beginning, our ambition has remained the same: to unite soapmaking tradition (craft, raw materials, patience) with a modern approach to cosmetics: precise formulas, rich sensoriality, and uncompromising safety standards.
Tradition & modernity: natural skincare, designed for skin
Convinced of the effectiveness of natural cosmetics, we create skincare ranges tailored to different skin types.
Our formulas are made mostly with 95% to 100% ingredients of natural origin (depending on the product). They are crafted without controversial ingredients and tested under dermatological control.
Ingredients from Provence and the Mediterranean, mostly organic
We select raw materials from Provence and the Mediterranean, primarily from organic farming, whenever it is possible and relevant to the formula.
Plant oils, extracts, fragrances, every choice follows one simple logic: effectiveness, tolerance, and pleasure of use.
Made in Provence, with local partners
All our products are made in Provence. Whenever possible, we prioritize partnerships with local suppliers to reduce the impact of transportation.
Some rare, specific raw materials cannot come from here:
- Argan oil, available only in Morocco
- Shea butter, originally from Africa
- Donkey milk, sourced from Italy
We stand by these choices: when an ingredient is better (or unique) elsewhere, we go and get it, without ever compromising on quality.
